Description

This route is as suggested by Rach in their review. It is better only in that it is more direct.
The route is almost the same as Eshkin1 but takes a well made path through Bushy Park instead of looping round the Thames Path shortening the route by about 2km.
Both Bushey Park and the Thames Path are beautiful.
Playground, benches and toilets on the West side of Bushey Park

Strider

02 Dec 2022 Autumn

I walked from Esher to Kingson.
The beginning of this route from Esher is the same as Eshkin1. The High street, a private road, across Littleworth common (the path is being resurfaced, but is churned up at the moment, Dec22), past Esher Rail Station, and along Ember road. After crossing Hampton court Bridge, instead of turning right along the Thames Path carry on ahead, use the pedestrian crossings to navigate the busy road junction the along a pleasant road to Bushy Park entrance. A well made compacted grit path takes you past some benches and toilets. Keep an eye out for deer. A large kissing gate at the exit (big enough for bikes and chairs). The route then meges with Eshkin1 to cross the Kingston Bridge, through the shopping centre to Kingston Station.
A good walk, a shorter alternative to Eshkin1.
Having done both routes today, a circular walk from Kingston using the Thames Path and Bushey park would be lovely.
