Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

17 Apr 2024A rather lovely route which incorporates several sections walking beside the shore of Chichester Harbour. The route is easy to follow and well-signed, although after the winter storms, there were two sections where the coastal defences have been eroded. The council have of course marked the footpaths as closed , but they are of course passable with care if you are prepared to take personal risk and responsibility.
The fields crossed are mainly arable, I only met horses, no cattle or sheep. Refreshments are available a Bosham, half-wayish. Several stiles and kissing gates. Not really suitable for wheels.

07 Jun 2023Excellent! Very much enjoyed this walk on a combination of footpaths and minor roads, with a very small section on a footpath by a main road. There were a few points where it was useful to have the downloaded map on an app but not essential. It also parallels the Chichester Cathedral Mini Pilgrimage from Bosham to Chichester which can be found on the British Pilgrimage Trust website.

15 Mar 2022This route follows the Chichester Harbour coastal footpath as much as possible, with lovely views of the harbour inlets.
The footpath at Fishbourne is tidal at peak high tides.
