Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Jun 2021Quiet and pretty walk, flower-rich meadows. The first field after Nympsfield is very boggy, even in midsummer. The Miry Brook area just before Nailsworth is also fairly wet and muddy. Both of these I imagine would be difficult in winter or after a wet spell.
No real route-finding issues. (We did the walk from Nailsworth to Dursley for public transport reasons, but the comments above read as though we did it from Dursley to Nailsworth.)
Food and drink available in Dursley, Uley, Nympsfield and Nailsworth. Bus stations in Dursley and Nailsworth.
Accessible to walkers only.

14 Jun 2021Excellent walk for large parts through beautiful countryside. However, the section after Nympsfield was difficult to navigate, and almost unpassable in places due to the large amount of standing water. This was after a spell of dry weather, so I would imagine it would be much worse in poor weather.

02 Jun 2021Enjoyable and picturesque walk, easy to follow as far as Nympsfield (pub). The stretch from Nympsfield, through the valley, is more difficult as the footpath signs are widely spaced and the route is not well trodden. There is long grass and boggy stretches in the valley bottom. Careful map reading required!.
