Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 Jun 2022A lovely route taking in parts of cosmeston and away from busy roads. There is a fairly gate at one point with no style, which had a large but tame horse i a feild. It was unclear this was a footpath, but it was. The ground is tricky there, and it leads to a very overgrown path with loads of nettles, so warning, wear leggings or you'll get stung!.

29 May 2022I did this route with Rhiwbina Runaways we started at Dinas Powys train station there were no toilet facilities at the strat, and some parts were off road. There were parts that were very over grown and had a lot of stingy nettles and giant stys to climb over, so could be unsuitable for wheelchair and buggy users. However, it was a very scenic route once we got to cosmeston lakes we were able to use the toilet facilities.

08 Jan 2022This route is pretty good for the most part. The footpath between Cross Common Road and Sully Road gets extremely boggy after rainfall, so it might be better to make a diversion via Murch Road and Watery Lane after inclement weather.

20 May 2021This is a nice route, especially as new stiles have recently been installed between Cross Common Road and Sully Road (including one that may be challenging for anyone with short legs). Also, this section involves crossing a field that can be very muddy, particularly in winter.
