27 May 2026I spent too much time on the A529 yesterday and didn’t want to do any more. I also wasn’t clear there was a pavement along this busy road. What follows is an alternative which I would rate as a 3.
I walked out of Denbeigh on a minor road to Pont Ystrad; on to Hen-efail; Graig-iwyd; then to the section of Hiraethog Trail near Cae Coch - it was being strimmed when I arrived otherwise it would have been impassable; I then followed various minor roads, rejoining the A529 where the Slow Ways route heads towards the river. I note there was no pavement on the A529 and cars were travelling at some speed. The rest of the route is as detailed in Denrut One.
