13 Nov 2022I walked this from Dalston on a saturday lunchtime. Now that this end of the route is mostly part of a LTN the whole route is very low traffic with only a couple of busy roads to cross.
There are public toilets at the Martello Street entrance to London Fields. Following two sides of a triangle through the park from here to Westgate Street is superfluous as the direct path is broad and pleasant even though it runs beside a bike lane. The park was extremely busy with people but if you are walking this route at a weekend then you can enjoy the busy market stalls in Broadway Market and there are plenty of places to get food and drink here as well as at both ends of the route.
The gpx is unclear whether the route along Andrews Road is via the pavement or canal towpath. This makes a difference when you get to Mare Street - I followed the pavement and to cross Mare Street you need to walk south about 50 metres to get to a Pelikan crossing and then it makes more sense to walk down Wadeson Street rather than doubling back to go down Vyner Street. This last stretch is rather uninspiring and I would be more inclined to carry on over the canal at the bottom of Broadway Market and head down Prichards Road then weave through to Bethnal Green Road on the west side of the railway.

11 Sep 2022A sensible route which we walked in the Dalston to Bethnal Green direction. Captures the gentrified London Fields transitioning into some old industrial East London now replete with street art and vegan cafes. Does what a Slow Way should – taking you from A-B avoiding most motor traffic along an interesting and safe route without too much of a navigational challenge.
Simple navigation from Dalston to London Fields along pleasant leafy streets. The GPX though London Fields park is slightly more circuitous than it need be, but line of sight to the Broadway market corner makes it easy to follow a slightly more direct route along the paths. There's free toilet facilities here should you need them.
Through bustling Broadway Market (photo 3) soon takes you onto the canal (photos 4 and 5) for a short stretch. After leaving the canal it's some cobbled back streets (but very safe feeling) with interesting murals and street out to look out for. You soon emerge in Bethnal Green proper by the V&A Museum of Childhood (currently closed for yet another refurb , duet to open in 2023).

06 May 2022I walked from Bethnal Green to Dalston.
Alongside a Park past a museum (closed atm) the into quiet back streets through well kept housing estates down to the canal. Steps to access and leave the canal. Echoes of the industrial past, but now bright and tidy along the tow path. Then past some trendy shops and pavement cafes to London Fields, a beautiful open space with trees, cafe and lido. Lastly along a quiet road toward Dalson. On the approach there are building works and the road looks blocked but there is a path through to the Station.
This was a good walk much nicer than expected for a inner city walk, lots of interest. Next time I'll bring my trunks and a towel!.
