Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

09 May 2023Walked from Cul to OSM as part of larger circle. Nice route out of Cullompton over 4 (!) bridges - rivers, rail and motorway. Absolutely dreadful weather resulting in some rather dispiriting route-finding through long wet grass in the fields around Aunk (poorly maintainted paths - and little used, given the extensive nettle growth at the gates), but the high degree of lane-walking, easy and not busy, made up for it! Passes through the attractive villages of Clyst Hydon and Talaton (the latter has a community shop and pub, and both have churches where you can get out of a downpour!). The last section through Escot, past the tiny Escot Church and along the River Otter are some of my favourite stamping grounds.

07 Apr 2023A very pleasant and easy route to follow. Quite a bit of it on roads, but these are quiet and have verges to walk on to, I always felt safe and comfortable. The Talaton Inn is conveniently located in the middle of the walk. There is a nice walk along the stream at the Cullompton end which is no longer than the road route. The road in Cullompton does however have a pavement. I have included a picture of the route alternative in Cullompton.
