Description
Starting in Keighley, there is a long steady climb up suburban streets then on country roads with verges until Redcar Tarn, with its waterfowl, is reached. All the while, the views get better, as height is gained, and they are maintained for most of the walk. The quiet country roads are roughly level for a while, then drop and rise again, quite steeply, until a track through a field is reached. There are good views of Eastburn and Cross Hills before descending through woods. A stony and fairly narrow path takes you down to a tarmacked and flagged lane with housing. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk until you are opposite the 'five' industrial site, then take the path on the left immediately after crossing Eastburn Bridge. Walk with the beck on your left, soon reaching a footbridge over the beck. Ignore this, instead go through the gate straight ahead, to continue with the beck on your left. When you reach the road, turn right and follow this into Crosshills
