Description
The same as CowCro 2 created by Ben Wrigley. His description: "This route is very close to the original but is for avoiding fields that are likely to have cows in, and it also avoids a stretch of very busy road with no verges in Withyham."
I couldn't save that GPX file on my app (too many points) so made this streamlined version. Others might find it useful. Also, once redrawn this way, the route becomes 2km shorter, the same length as CowCro 1!
Possible break/escape points:
There is a pub in Cowden but Cowden Station is not nearby (and unmanned so no toilets), the obvious path can get pretty muddy in places.
Hartfield is halfway along with a pub, shop and 7-day bus service (291 Crawley to Tunbridge Wells) which is the nearest bus to Cowden. Another mid-route pub is just off route in Withyham, but don't walk straight along the "very busy road with no verges". A short detour via the church avoids the no-pavement blind bend, see mini map. A 291 bus stop is a bit further along the same road.
Crowborough has a decent high street, bus route 29 (T Wells - Uckfield - Brighton) and a train station which, again, is a fair trek from the Slow Ways point
