Description
The route crosses the A1via the road bridge, and after a short walk on the A151 routes through Twyford Wood using well walked paths to join a footpath out of the wood onto a tarmacked road. The road is used by traffic but is generally quiet and safe. Staying on roads into the village of Swayfield, passing close to The Royal Oak public house, the route joins a footpath to Swinstead and then further footpaths through the Grimsthorpe Estate, Edenham, Bourne Woods and into Bourne

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

30 Nov 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)This review just covers the route from Colsterworth roundabout to Honeypot lane. The A151 bridge appears to be the only safe way to cross the A1 in the area, and has a pavement for pedestrians. However, once passed the truck stop there is requirement to walk on the A151 for 0.5km which can be busy and has a safe harbour only on the northern side. Once in Twyford woods good paths however the southern exit route has been rerouted but is well signposted. This leads onto honeypot lane which was very quiet (zero vehicles on this occasion). If walking towards Colsterworth the entrance to the path is concealed.
