Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 Jul 2021A very pleasant walk. Walking from Chatburn the start of the footpath is a bit tricky to find as it starts part way along a house driveway, there is a FP sign on a utility pole. You will encounter gates, kissing gates, steps, and one section of uneven stony ground (it looked quite polished so it could be slippy when damp).

19 Jun 2021This route is a very nice stroll for the most part along the banks of the River Ribble (part of the Ribble Way) and is therefor a well established path popular with dog walkers. It starts with a short bit of road walking before entering Brungerley Park (which has a sculpture trail) leading into Cross Hill Quarry Nature Reserve. The path ( all tarmac to this point) then drops down to the river which is where it stays for the majority of the walk. The riverside walk is beautiful and the constant sitings of the nearby cement works do not spoil it. Just near the end there is a steepish climb before entering Chatburn. No problems at all with the route throughout.
