Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Sep 2024This is a lovely route taking you down from the centre of Chelmsford to Wickford. We spent a short time walking out of town but when we arrives through galleywood really started to open up some beautiful buildings and churches and amazing woodlands full of berries! All the paths around were very clear so it easy to follow the the path.
We walked through stock which was lovely and met a few nice people on the way and finished up in Wickford in good time.

15 Sep 2024This route is gorgeous route combining quiet woodlands and fields paths.
Coming out of built up Chelmsford and into Galleywood past the quaint church was a real treat.
Past lots of farmers fields and particularly enjoyed the area of Stock.
A great route to combine with heading down to the coast or just on its own.
