04 Nov 2023Nice walk, very green and peaceful, particularly once you get away from the A12. Paper Mill lock at the halfway point has a cafe, and you can sit out on the canal with a cup of tea and rest your feet. River path gets very muddy and floods in places after heavy rain, so not recommended when the water is high.

25 Mar 2022A popular route along the canal. Off road once you have left the town's at each end. Sections can be muddy after rain or flood.

03 Sep 2021A straightforward route with hardly any roads to cross (and no major ones!). Just follow the Chelmer. Also plenty of jumping on / off points along the way for the villages along the route.
