09 Jul 2022An excellent route through beautiful Cotswold countryside (photo 2), historic villages, and Blenheim Park mostly following the Oxfordshire Way. Only access issues are gates and steps (Stonesfield Steps, photo 1) into and within Blenheim Park. Currently (July 2022) a small diversion over the Grand Bridge due to lake dredging at Blenheim, but this affords even better views of the Palace and Park! There are no refreshments mid route but plenty of pubs/cafes in Charlbury and Woodstock.

04 May 2021Fantastic route, walked on a sunny May bank holiday weekend. Started in Woodstock, had a well earned pint at Charlbury, and then walked back again. Plenty of birds on display, including red kite, goldfinch, skylark, mistle thrush, and recently returned swallows. Several hares spotted on a field on the approach to Stonesfield, and another bounded out of a hedgerow onto the path less than a metre away from us! Hardly any road walking, all well maintained paths, and easy underfoot.

02 May 2021This is a beautiful route mostly on footpaths and tracks. A lot of it follows the Oxfordshire Way and is well signposted. There are lovely views across Wychwood forest and lots of bird life (red
kites and skylarks.) The last section runs through Blenheim Palace grounds. There are steep steps to get over the wall but you don't have to pay to enter.
