We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

I have walked the section between Cardigan and Cilgerran and I think it's unnecessarily challenging when there is an easier route slightly to the west, on the other side of Fforest Farm. There is a warning sign about the difficulty on the part that is covered by the Welsh Wildlife Centre's gorge trail (more or less from the visitor centre to Fforest Farm), and it would be extremely treacherous in poor weather. It also includes a lot of steep climbing and steps up and down, when the other path is much more gently graded. Instead of turning sharply east at the visitor centre, it would be better to continue south and pass between Fforest Farm and Fforest Camp, come out on a minor road, cross one of the pedestrian bridges to Church St in Cilgerran, and then rejoin the suggested Slow Ways route by Cilgerran Castle.
