Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

17 Oct 2021I walked this route with three friends on 2 September, 2021. Going out of Canterbury is very pleasant, green and fairly quiet, the footpath shadows the A257 between Ickham and Wingham - flat and easy. The advantage of this way is that it is direct and easy to walk but to achieve this there is a longish stretch of walking on a B category road (Fleming Road), which does have regular traffic, albeit not too heavy. One gets off the road at Black Pond Farm and then the way follows, almost entirely, footpath till arrival in Sandwich. Thank you to the person who put up this route, which we enjoyed walking. An alternative, less busy, but longer route would be: Canterbury/Patrixbourne/Adisham/footpaths between Wingham and Goodnestone/Summerfield Farm (below Barnsole)/then Black Pond Farm and follow the Cansan1 way.
