Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Route is currently closed on the southside of the footbridge over the M6 Toll. No notices to officially close it so no indication when and if it might reopen. Only option at present is to use A34 crossing of Toll.

Starting from the worst meeting point I've encountered so far (600m from town on the south bound platform of the town's tiny railway station) this route soon joins the A34. This isn't particularly pretty but is very safe and direct. As you approach the iconic Holiday Inn (maybe that's a bit of beauty) you go down a residential street to the back of it. There's a crossing over the A5 and then a bridge takes you over the A460 and M6 Toll. As you emerge on the other side the way takes you through quiet residential streets and as then as you come into Great Wyrley the occasional main road. Great Wyrley has shops and a pub. Just before you get to Landywood Station (the Great Wyrley meeting place) you pass through a small retail park with restaurants and a supermarket. This route is direct, safe, and easy to follow. Full marks.
