Others have already said this but just to confirm the suggested route through Highgate cemetery is never open. Walk up Swains lane and go through Waterlow park instead - if you head up the hill you’ll come out in Highgate. You can see Karl Marx tomb from the park - walk straight along the path ahead of you as you go through the gate - just past the barbecue bins you can peer into the cemetery and spot him!.

I don't have much to add to the below reviews. I really enjoyed this route! It took in lots of wonderful green spaces and woods. Hilly in parts, defo worth stopping off at Alexandra Palace to enjoy the views of the city!.

I don't have much more to add on top of the previous reviews. Camwoo is a beautiful London Slow Way passing beside Alexandra Palace, Highgate Cemetery and right through Highgate Woods. There are refreshments en route at the beautiful Waterlow Park too. It includes quite a lot of hills but also some beautiful forest and London views. A must walk.

I walked from Camden to Wood Green.
A walk of two halves. First uphill along streets to Highgate. Second generally downhill through woods and parks to Wood Green. Hilly!
Well made pavements past the canal in Camden then gently uphill through Kentish Town to the edge of Hampstead Heath. There is no access to Highgate Cemetery in the South, only in the NW corner (£4.50 to get in!). So the route climbs,13%, up Swains Lane, then a sustained 17% up to Highgate Village. Public Toilets, Pubs, cafes and shops at the top provide a break. Then down to hill to Highgate Tube. Smooth (narrow, 75cm, in places) pavements so far but from here steps and shorter-but-steeper gradients are common through small parks and Queen's Wood. Lovely trees and shade. Down to the Victoria Stakes Pub and along beside Ally Pally. There was a very welcome food Fair here on the day I did this walk. Across a bridge to Alexandra Park Station and through a park to approach Wood Green station along quiet streets.
Only 10Km but your legs will feel this walk. A varied and interesting walk with diversions and chances to rest in beautiful surroundings.

I walked this route from Camden Town to Wood Green. Pretty quickly, the route does a great job of getting you off main roads and into quiet residential neighbourhoods. From here to Wood Green, there were several fairly steep segments both up and down - a good bit of elevation gain! Highgate Cemetery isn't always open, but you can just stick to Swain's Lane when it's not. A great route to explore the city as it changes! You see major roads and minor town centres, quiet residential areas, great park space, and lovely views of the city! I'd agree with the other reviewer that there are some directness improvements that could be made, especially around Queen's Wood, but overall a really lovely Slow Ways walk!.

This is a really enjoyable and diverse route. It's great to be able to enjoy city, woodlands and Alexandra Palace.

It's not got more stars because when we arrived Highgate Cemetery was closed and so the route was not 100% usable. At the cemetery, another route that simply sticks to Swain's Lane would remove that issue.

The meander through Queen's Wood was a pleasure, but it would be good to have a more direct route here too.

Walking from Camden to Wood Green is mostly up hill. You might want to walk the route the other way around for a slightly easier journey... if you can.

I'd be really pleased to walk this route again.
