Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Oct 2022I started from Camberley and the route to the town edge required only occasional checks of the gpx line. It leads to Ravenswood Roundabout where walkers need to go through a subway first and then cross M3 motorway. After that, the route continues through a leafy suburban neighbourhood. The noisy motorway is still rather close and there is no great risk of losing one's way.
When you reach the edge of Camberley, there is a marked entry to a forest via a public footpath. The forest seems to serve as a training ground for heavy military vehicles though I didn't meet any there on a weekday. The first hundreds of meters through the forest require checking gpx often but then you reach a ridge leading up to the High Curly Hill Summit. You can safely walk along the ridge and a hum of the motorway should come from the left throughout to guide you. The High Curly Hill Summit itself is worth reaching as you can see as far as London skyline from there.
The route down to Lightwater is easy to follow though there may be alternative routes down to the Lightwater Country Park. The rest of the route to the center of Lightwater is probably the shortest one and there are pavements along the whole way from the Country Park to central Lightwater.
