Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

27 Mar 2022A lot of this route is on or alongside of roads through a fairly busy urban area . In places there are great views of the Hamble and it goes through a small country park.
The route starts at Bursledon Station and there is no footpath alongside access road which is quite busy. Then on to the pavement over Bursledon Bridge with spectacular marine views. But its a busy A road and not a comfortable resting point. The best bit comes next - along the estuary. However cycling is prohibited along the shore path. And we turn in all too early onto another narrow well used road with no footpath. when a better alternative would be to continue along shore taking next left onto a track which crosses suggested path further up. The suggested route takes you through a boat yard carpark with associated hazards.
Another short section of road leads to pleasantly maintained country park.
Then back to roads through housing. Crossing a couple of 30 & 40 mph roads with no pedestrian assistance.
Around a recreation ground, across a road and onto another metalled path. But the route forks left onto a rougher path through track and into shopping precinct.
