Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

27 Dec 2023Burcar Two route is a nicer walk for the Shilton to Carterton portion. They then both follow the same path from Shilton to Burford. Apart from that this walk is still fine and slightly shorter but follows the main Rd from Burford to Carterton for a while so isn't that nice on that section.

04 Sep 2023Avoid using the B road between Shilton and Carterton as it is a fairly busy road with no footpath and the grass verges are very narrow. The section of the walk between Burford and Shilton is lovely. See Burcar Two which follows this route between Burford and Shilton and has an alternate route between Shilton and Carterton. Rated low due to narrow verge on the B road.

25 May 2022Scenic views, with a pub at approximately halfway. Mud paths and a stone step style make this not totally accessible. Generally well signposted footpaths.
