Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

25 Jun 2023Not for the faint hearted, the SW Coast path on this section can be very steep at times, but so incredibly rewarding with fabulous views out to Lundy Island. Chose a particularly hot day to do this walk which wasn't ideal but armed with the large scale OS Explorer 126 (Clovelly and Hartland) map there are many options to shorten this route into mini sections finishing for example at Morwenstow (tea rooms) or Welcombe (The Smithy Inn)
Take time to explore the Marsland Valley which forms the border between Devon and Cornwall, a delightful alternative to the heat / coast in a series of secluded wooded valleys

Have been walking all sections of this now for some years and it remains to my mind one of the most stunning stretches of coastline in the UK, highly recommended either as part of the complete SW Coast Path, Minehead to Poole route or as a one off or just in sections.
