Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Feb 2025This route is OK but many of the off road trails are very wet in February. I would also recommend not taking the route described via Tangley Lane and going straight down the Worplesdon Road and rejoining the route at Keens Lane. While Tangley Lane is relatively quiet there are no pavements.
I walked this route in Feb 2025. As I mentioned most of the off road sections were very wet. Particularly bad was the R.U.P.P. called Malthouse Lane, I had to divert several times around deep puddles.
I would say that the route finding is of an intermediate level, you need to keep your eye on the map at all times and I'd recommend making sure you have an OS map as well. One tricky piece is as you cross the A3 coming into Guildford. Head up onto the pedestrian bridge and take the first left which seems like it's only half way across. Then follow the path, cross the main road and head into Woodbridge meadows.
All that said this is a good walk, relatively flat and a mix of trails and road walking. I think if I'd walked it in drier conditions it would have got four stars.
