29 Sep 2023This route was very easy to follow and apart from one bridge over the canal completely flat and concrete and navigable on wheels. The scenery was very pretty for most of the route as it is alongside the Kennet and Avon canal, although the day we did it it was tipping down with rain so we didn't linger anywhere.

25 Sep 2023Walked with Everybody Outdoors as an organised walk. A lovely and easily navigable walk, paralleling the canal for the majority of it which was lovely and gave us plenty to look at and talk about. Good distance, made even better by the train making the walk accessible and fun. Definitely recommend.

25 Sep 2023An easy to navigate route along the railway path and canal tow path. Easy to walk due to the train and buses running between the two towns. Good surface in bad weather.

17 Sep 2022I agree with all the other reviewers - this is a very pleasant walk along the canal that takes sensible routes in and out of Bradford-on-Avon and Trowbridge.

10 Jul 2022Pleasant walk along the K&A canal then footpath into Trowbridge. Brief section through housing estate. Short tunnel after left turn to reach station car park. At the end it's possible to walk through the Shires shopping centre (toilets just inside on left) next to ASDA to get to the town centre.

10 Jul 2022Might be useful to know that the D1 bus between Bath, Bradford and Trowbridge is now hourly.

08 Nov 2021This route is 4.20 mi long, and is a suitable route for mobility scooter, and pushchair users., as it is 100 % paved, with no stiles or gates.
It can be reduced by a further 0.40 mi, by walking down Brick Lane, and then Seymour Rd in Trowbridge.

26 Sep 2021Pleasant walk through Trowbridge town on footpaths then tarmac footpath along rail line before joining canal towpath for most of the walk. Navigationally there are 2 slight errors with the map- 1. You can’t walk across Trowbridge station car park and join the path. Look for narrow entrance on the right as you enter car park. 2. At BOA lock you can’t keep to the canal but have to join the road. There is little point then I rejoining the towpath and dog legging back to the road so keep to road into BOA.

22 Jun 2021A good level walk half of which is in countryside on the Kennet & Avon Canal towpath.
Just one potential obstruction where a large wheelchair might struggle and a double buggy won't get through.
The surface is mainly good, a bit puddly on the towpath when wet.

22 Jun 2021An interesting, level and mixed route, a combination of pavement walking, canal towpath and shared footpath/cycle route with an excellent surface. It's basically an attractive country walk with urban landscape either end. The entire canal section is part of the Outer Wheel of the Bradford on Avon Walking Wheel: https://walkbradfordonavon.org/boa-walking-wheel; photo 4 shows the green waymarker of the Outer Wheel.
It's more or less level. There's one potential obstruction, shown in photo 3, on the eastern edge of Bradford on Avon - there's room for a single buggy or pushchair & probably a standard wheelchair, but maybe not a large mobility scooter.
