Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

03 Jun 2024This route avoids having to cross the A43 directly by using the underpass to Turweston, a much safer option. There is a mix of walking along quiet B roads, access tracks and footpaths. Some of these are lesser used paths and navigation can be a bit tricky. We ended up off course and had to detour around Westbury Wild to get back on track. Footpath signposting is quite poor in places so you need to keep an eye on the map. Some of the fields traversed contained livestock including cows and we were able to avoid some of them by hopping over into the adjacent field. Due to recent wet weather the going was very muddy in places so good footwear is required. All in all an enjoyable walk, taking in some of the HS2 construction work (small D tour required) the grounds of Stowe house and Turweston Aerodrome.

13 Nov 2022A varied and very enjoyable route. Clear and easy to follow paths through rolling countryside. Often sheltered by woods and hedges.
