02 Oct 2022Too many choices but this one does what it says on the tin. Direct but not off road, well there is an adequate pavement so what is off road walking? The canal was tempting but longer and perhaps not so user friendly in the dark. I spotted that bus stops along this route are 'Not in use'. Red double lines only seen previously in London by this yokel. Can I add to choices by suggesting the parallel High Street / Bloxwich Road which might be a little more community rather than traffic focused. Yes happy to recommend this as a safe and accurate Slow Way for those in a hurry between Bloxwich and Walsall.

22 Jun 2022Easy to follow route and quickest between Bloxwich and Walsall but uses the main roads. The alternatives follow the canal, are more scenic but slightly longer.

22 Aug 2021Direct and safe, this is a no nonsense Slow Way that I'd walked in reverse about five years ago when the trains had been cancelled. This time, I was starting in Walsall. The route picks up the busy A34 and doesn't deviate. It's pavement all the way. There is a section where the pavement ran out on one side just south of Birchills Junction, but I found crossing the road easy enough. I had a quick check of the canal which runs parallel with most this route to see if there is an option to "tek the sennick rowt" as they say round here, and there is. But that's for another Slow Way! Plenty of shops, plenty of takeaways and pedestrian crossings throughout. Not much peace or beauty but it's quick and very easy to follow, that's the trade-off. Approved.

29 Jun 2021Straightforward route and easy to follow, but it does go via a main road, so it's not particularly suitable for families.
