Description
A bit more of a challenge than Blaenabe1 this variant takes you up to Blorenge peak with probably the best view from the eastern Bannau Brechiniog.
Its a stunning panorama with views to the Black Mountains, Sugar Loaf and Ysgyryd Fawr and across Abergavenny.
Although the OS Map seems to suggest that when coming down Blorenge to Llanfoist you go a bit south all that does is take you into dense bracken. So I have done my best to map where the actual path downhill goes - its fairly much straight down with a few twists and turns

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

13 Nov 2025I would give this one star over Blaenabe1 because of the incredible views from Blorenge.
Would I ever walk to Blaenavon again - no. Would I walk up to Blorenge again - definitely.
