Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

09 Jun 2021I live locally and I took this route on Wednesday 9th June 2021 using GPS.
This walk was a pleasant surprise for me. It runs close to the A31, along side a railway line, passes a quarry and appears to have a long urban stretch through Wrecclesham and Farnham. None of this matters. The parts along the river are delightful and the route picks its way through pleasant paths and green areas of Farnham.
From the Slowways criteria:
1) The route is fairly safe. There are a few sections on unpaved lanes and the A31 dual carriageway has to be crossed (it looks like there is a way around this by taking Weydon Lane, south of the A31).
2) The route respects local codes and laws.
3) It is accessible in that it is not a strenuous walk. There are stiles along the way (and a large fallen tree to negotiate at the time I went).
4) The route is direct.
5) It is mostly off road but there are a couple of short stretches of road without pavement.
6) There are no resting places along the way other than fields and a park at Wrecclesham.
7) There are busses and trains at Farnham and Bentley.
8) The route is clear.
9) The walk is enjoyable and varied, passing through woods, fields, farm land and beside the river Wey.
10) The paths are all well established.
