Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

02 Jun 2021I live locally and I took this route on Tuesday 1st June 2021.
It was a glorious, warm, sunny day and the ground was mostly dry. Some muddy patches in shady areas.
From the Slowways criteria:
1) The route is fairly safe. There is one section on an unpaved road.
2) The route respects local codes and laws.
3) It is accessible in that it is not a strenuous walk. There are stiles, gates and steps along the way.
4) The route is direct.
5) It is nearly all off road but there is a short stretch of road without pavement at Blacknest. The traffic is light and there are grassy patches at the side.
6) There are pubs at Kingsley and Blacknest, on short spurs off the route.
7) There are busses at Bordon, busses and trains at Bentley.
8) The route is clear though there are potentially misleading tracks that are not on the OS maps.
9) The walk is very enjoyable and varied, passing through woods, fields, heath and farm land.
10) The paths are all well established.
