Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 May 2021Mostly footpaths and field paths with very little road walking. South of Beccles, the route was wet and muddy and the footpath west of Chenery’s farm disappeared in a rapeseed field. Oak Lane and Cucumber Lane would be better options if conditions wet. Lovely path around Stoven Wood. Section west of Whitehouse Farm was seriously overgrown and nearly impenetrable. There is a 50 yard section without a right of way which required scrambling through ditches. Crossing A12 at Wangford was safe with good visibility and refuge on the central reservation. Lovely section from Hen Reedbeds nature reserve, along river Blyth to Southwold. Only use the path across Southwold Common in the summer as waterlogged. Total mileage closer to 16 than 15.
