Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

26 Apr 2025A route of two halves: the first half a picturesque ramble through rolling countryside between the villages of Deddington and Bodicote; the second half a walk into the heart of Banbury along the main Oxford Road before weaving through Victorian terraces and town houses into the town centre.
The only issue I had following the route was that, on the most significant downhill heading from Adderbury and Bodicote, the public footpath marked on the OS map is no longer accessible. So when you reach SP 46769 36647 (Long/Lat: 52.02628, -1.31975) follow the lower path downhill to the field edge. From there head to the small gap in the next hedge (SP 46539 36958 or
52.0291, -1.32306) and follow the well-trodden path up towards Bodicote.

02 Jan 2024Nice walk from Deddington to Banbury. Especially lovely between Deddington and Adderbury.
If walking with dogs you will have to lift less spritely ones over a couple of stile as one field contains well fenced-in sheep.
An alternative route to avoid this is the footpath to the west leaving from Deddington, this goes through a cow meadow as an FYI.

06 May 2021This is the most direct and easiest rout from Banbury to Deddington. A more scenic option would be to walk from Bodicote to Bloxham Grove Farm and follow the footpath to Adderbury from there.
