12 Mar 2023I walked this on a bright noon warmish day, from Coulsdon to Banstead. It had rained a little in the previous week.
There is a fairly steep climb out of Coulsdon, where this route follows the LOOP for a bit. I picked the side with the grass until the top, where the route briefly goes along a residential street to end up at a little muddy path near the Corrigan Recreation Ground. There are a few "private road" keep out signs when you cross a field across private land. Then there is a very short section (photo #4) without pavement. It lasts about 200 metres before a pavement appears again just before Woodmansterne, with its lovely carved sign. For the remainder into Banstead the route crosses every farms, with some fields having a few horses. They were docile and were easy to pass. In other sections there were just fences on each side of the path. Crossing Park Road was easy, and after saying hello to another few horses, I crossed the Cricket Club's grounds, some urban public footpaths, the church yard, and ended up at the end in Banstead.
Lovely route, but minus points for the very short section of dangerous road walking and horses.

04 Aug 2022Nice route, particularly the Banstead, Woodmansterne, Clockhouse section. Take care when leaving Woodmansterne via Rectory Lane (assuming Banstead to Coulsdon direction) as there is no proper pavement for part of the way as you near the footpath up to Prospect Common.

03 Feb 2022 (edited 15 Feb 2022)Good route through pleasant countryside. Tricky road section at Woodmansterne after church. Steep downhill into Coulsdon. Several kissing gates. Field with horses. Cafes and supermarkets in Banstead (Toilets in Waitrose). Shops and pub (Woodman) at Woodmansterne. Toilets and supermarkets in Coulsdon. Alternative slightly shorter path to Grove Lane Clockhouse - see map at photo 15.
