Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

13 Nov 2021Generally a pleasant enough walk. No great inclines or stiles. I walked this Bothel to Aspatria 1000-1200 on a Saturday morning and only passed cars on the section into Aspatria. Probably just about half of the walk is off road. The route off road out of Bothel was originally tarmac but is now muddy and broken. It really needs a map and compass to navigate this route with confidence as waymarking is inadequate. There is a very steep concrete slope at 163407 at the footbridge. This is dangerous and great care is needed. The Greyhound Inn marks the start with a bus stop nearby on the A595. In Aspatria there are many shops and cafes as well as the railway station (end of the route) and bus stops.
