Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 May 2021This is not the most direct route between Ash Vale and Brookwood, but if you have the time and energy it is mostly enjoyable. After a scenic start along the canal it passes through some semi suburban off road paths around Ash, but then opens up into attractive woods and meadows for the second half of the walk. The paths are mostly level and easy underfoot. There are several kissing gates and quite a few styles, which all have dog gates. The route passes close to, but not through the military training area for some of the way, so occasionally the rural peace is broken by the sound of distant gunfire. When we walked it at the end of April 2021 there was a short temporary diversion of the path just after the A322 crossing near Ash station owing to nearby construction work, but it was not very long and was easy to follow.
