22 Apr 2023Our group ran this route together at about 7.30pm on a Monday evening (it was dark at the time). This course is pretty direct, following Goswell Road and Whitecross Street (passing The Barbican Estate) towards Liverpool Street. We did not have access to Turnpike House, sadly. But we were able to connect to Lever Street instead to stay on course.

21 Aug 2022I walked this route from Angel to Liverpool Street. I'd generally agree with the other reviewers that it's a pretty standard London Slow Ways route, but I might be a bit more enthusiastic - I really enjoyed watching the city change gradually. It really did happen bit by bit, and that was really fun to observe. I was really pleasantly surprised by this route, and would definitely recommend it.

31 May 2022Nothing wrong with this route, although not stand-out memorable. Nice to see King Square Gardens and might as well detour through Fortune Street Park too, while you're there. Got to love London's pocket gardens - have a little sit if there's time.

19 Feb 2022I enjoyed walking this. It's point to point I've done several times, but never along this route. This is certainly nicer than what I would usually have done (gone down City Road to Old Street). The area near Liverpool Street is still a massive building site, and it was noisy, even on a Saturday morning.

05 Feb 2022Like others have said, this is a good route. It was not a problem, but when I walked this late at night Kings Square Gardens was closed.

13 Nov 2021This close to central London, there tend to be two kinds of walk - the tourist-friendly one with major landmarks, and the backwater. This is definitely the backwater type, as it's mostly on smaller roads - though ironically does take in a short section of the A1. I enjoyed the architectural contrast between the glass office buildings at Liverpool Street and the 1960s residential flats dotted over the central section.

06 Aug 2021Beautiful, quiet route that avoids the major roads with a variety of interesting things along the way. If it rains, lots of cover available. Keep an eye a out for St Luke’s Community Centre.

26 Jun 2021A good route, mostly avoiding busy roads and following quiet back streets. Very flat apart from one slight incline at the end. Not the most scenic part of London, but there are a few interesting landmarks like a huge former church in a pleasant square and an eco energy plant.
