17 Jul 2021DO NOT USE. I started this walk from Swadlincote and encountered the first problem at 1.61km (SK 2832 1990). The footpath used is being built on at the easterly end and any attempt to rejoin it was met with barbed wire fences. As luck would have it I'd walked near there from Burton the previous weekend so was able to come up with alternative route to get back to this Slow Way at SK 2690 1992 on Woodland Road. The footpath sign was decrepid and the path itself fenced into a corridor which leads to... another fence. Completely fenced off! So I tried rejoining at SK 2671 2003. I managed to follow the path as far as SK 2644 1932. Here I encountered a barbed wire fence with no way through. At this stage I abandoned the route and (unsuccessfully) tried to pick up Alrswa one. All problems were reported via the Ramblers App.
