Much the same as the previous two reviews - this is a great walk, reasonably easy to follow and with a nice resting point half way at Folkington church! I walked from Polegate to Alfriston (and on to Seaford via Seaalf1) on a sunny day in June.

Couple of things to watch out for if you're walking the route:
1. The footpath between Mill Lane and Folkington doesn't follow the line on the OS map (and the line the Slow Way has used), but the path shown on OpenStreetMap is correct
2. When you get into Folkington village don't accidentally go straight on and instead follow the road that turns sharply left to the church
3. To join the footpath down to Plonk Barn you need to turn left off the tree-lined bridlepath, which isn't always obvious!.

Everything that Bostal Boy has said! Really loved walking this route.

The route goes right passed the Long Man of Wilmington and you can spot the White Horse too from this route too. You can expect some great tracks and views.

On the day we walked the right of way between Folkington and Polegate (Mill Way) was covered in crops with no path to see. Just follow the established path to the south of the suggested route and you'll be fine. The photos I've uploaded to this view will show you the way too!

I'd 100% walk this route again!.

Polegate to Seaford via Alfriston 24/10/2021 Leg One ALFPOL.

This really is a stunning walk. It starts off modestly, following roadside pavements from Polegate Station to the village of Wannock. At the end of a cul-de-sac, Mill Way, there is an attractive gate with a wooden arch which leads into fields. The actual footpath here is not exactly as marked on the map, but the new route is well-trodden and easily followed. It heads to the right of an underground reservoir on a gentle climb up to the hamlet of Folkington, which has a pretty church but no other facilities.
The wooded bridle path through the Folkington Estate is waymarked as the Weald Way, and eventually breaks out of the woods to reveal a tremendous vista of the Downs westward to Firle Beacon. The path continues under the downland scarp and beneath the mysterious carved chalk figure of the Long Man of Wilmington.
Carrying on over the hill, the path drops down into the Cuckmere Valley with more awesome views of Alfriston in the distance. On the descent, I recommend a short detour to see the tiny church of Lullington, which has a claim to being the smallest in England.
Alfriston has all facilities with pubs, cafes and shops. This Slow Way is well traced on the map and easily followed on the ground. Some sections of the path are rough chalk and flint, there gates and steps in at least one location. There are no facilities along the way.
