Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

This route sets off to a good start at Drymen. There are nice views of hills towering above the Loch Lomond and there are even benches after a couple of km.
The critical point comes at Croftamie. First, there is an unnecessary triangular diversion but that is a minor issue. The main problem with this route is that it wants to follow the path of a disused railway approx. 5km from Drymen right after Croftamie. However, the disused railway track is completely overgrown with weeds and partially under water. See the attached photo. Searching for an alternative route, I picked the one to the left of the slowway rather than following the National cycle route 7. That was a mistake. It led to an impenetrable forest. I should have taken the National cycle route 7 at Croftamie instead and join this slowway after 2km again.
The rest of the route was fine. It is worth noting that most of the route is on paved country roads so a bit tiring for the feet.
