Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

As mentioned by the other reviewers an easy to follow, full pavement and direct route which is quite scenic. It would be possible to use more minor roads as you approach Aldridge by turning into the Bar Common area and walking along Whetstone lane but I don't think this justifies a third route in this case. Overall a good Slow Ways route. There is also a very nice coffee shop at the Streetly end called Breathe as well as multiple places to eat in Aldridge.

Easy to follow with the whole route being pavement. Not really any alternatives to this route due to lack of off road options. Nice views of fields along the majority of the route though. Only points to take care are the road crossings near roundabouts.

Very easy to follow and basically following three straight lines, this is a short and pretty functional Slow Way. Pavement the whole way and following main roads for most of the way this might not be to the tastes of those who want something more offroad but I felt safe and comfortable throughout. The only tricky crossings potentially are the Aldridge Road, the roundabout at the end of Bourne Vale and Erdington Road, when you arrive in Aldridge. There are some views into South Staffordshire as you walk along Foley Road West and the rural surroundings for most of the route are pleasant. There is a pub, The Foley Arms about half way but this is not really needed in a 4.4km journey.
