Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Walked on an overcast cold day. Beautiful stretch along the river Wey. Coxes lock is a highlight. Mostly flat but occasionally muddy along the river path. A couple of steep approaches to two footbridges over the river.

I walked this on a warm and mostly sunny Monday morning, from Addlestone to Weybridge. It had not rained a lot in the past week.

It is a short section, starting along residential roads (photo #1) until reaching the Coxes Mill Pond and lock (photo #2). Here it starts following the River Wey Navigation (photo #3) until it meets the River Wey (photo #4). From there on, it is another stretch along the commercial "heart" of Weybridge to reach the finish.

It's a short and mostly pleasant route. I docked it a star due to the excessive road traffic in Weybridge.

This was a very pleasant walk, allowing a view of nature and pretty buildings. It's fairly accessible, only a few roads to cross and narrow paths at some instances, but overall it's lovely and quite short.

The Addlestone section of this walk is through housing, but the remainder is picturesque and pleasant along the Wey Navigation. Some sections can be very muddy so keep mind if planning to walk this route after significant rainfall.

A lovely walk along the canal with or without your dog. Very straight along the canal but a couple of slight hills so maybe difficult if disability’s.

A short pleasent walk with some interesting features. There are some steep ramps to the bridges over the River Wey. The tow path is not made up and can get muddy and wet. The beautiful Cox's Mill and mill pond are a highlight of the walk.

Very pleasant walk, away from traffic. A little muddy on towpath by the River Wey but there had been very heavy showers during the past week. No steps or gates.
