Description
This route is basically the same as Abetro one, but is 1km shorter and is kinder on the feet as it uses softer alternative tracks where they exist. It might be more tricky for wheelers to negotiate due to softer terrain and stream crossings, however a gate on entering Griffin Forest from the south might also prove difficult for wheelers (2 photos).
The four diversions from Abetro one are:
1. Opposite the distillery this route takes the riverside route, signposted to Grandtully: it would be impossible for wheelers, and when the river is flooding. Abetro one uses the pavement beside the A827.
2. In Griffin Forest this route takes a lesser track, indicated at both ends as 'dead end', which may prove muddy, and has a couple of stream crossings (photos). Abetro one uses the harder, and longer forest track which is also the waymarked route.
3. In Griffin Windfarm this route takes the signposted route, bypassing the majority of the turbines. Abetro one uses the windfarm track right past many of the turbines.
4. At Trochry this route takes a newly constructed path, one field away from the A822, rather than the main road which has no pavement

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
