Description
This route follows the main Taff Trail between Abercynon and Cilfynydd - slightly longer but more pleasant than the narrow pavement alongside the A4054. The footpath between Cilfynydd and Penheol Ely Road is mostly clearly marked, and the long stretch along Eglwysilan Road is fine - not much traffic and great views. The footpath section across Mynydd Meio is not particularly clear or well-marked, but the terrain was easy and I kept my bearings with my OS map using pylons, etc. for orientation - not recommended in poor visibility!
At Ty Canol Farm, I couldn't find a path to the side of the buildings (as shown on the OS map) but used the road through the property

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
