Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Walked as part of the National Parks Challenge 2026. Very enjoyable and some lovely views along the way.

Fantastic walk with some really rugged scenery. Clear paths throughout which is to be expected on the coast path. Good transport links on the A487 mean the walk can be broken at Llanon. We walked it over two days, breaking the walk here. There's a nice cake shed in Llanon as well. Aberaeron is a nice town to finish in with lots of coffee shop and pub opportunities. When we walked it there were some diversions here but clearly signed.

One of my favourite stretches of coastline and an ideal route for getting between two charming towns. Care should be taken near the cliffs.

A good route. Lots of kissing gates etc so it's not going to be accessible to all. Route could/should be amended to stay on coastal path all the way to Aber though. Also as its a coastal route is possible bits are going to change over time as the coastline is being eroded fast. Watch out for choughs too! Nice bonus!!.

Lovely coastal path with the section from Aberystwyth to Llanrhystud v remote so less people. Highly recommend.
