Easy to follow path from Uttoxeter to Abbots Bromley. Scenery is predominantly fields but broken up with a few woodland parts. Plenty of pubs at the end of the walk. Lots of stiles to negotiate en route though, some less stable than others.

I walked this route south to north. Plotting is a bit sloppy in places but only caused confusion leaving Abbots Bromley at the end of Swan Lane. The path here heads north east but the exit from the road is in the south east corner. Nit picking yes but let's make it easy for those who follow our lead. It's evident that some cross field paths have been diverted around the edges adding something to the distance, done perhaps to pacify landowners when the Staffordshire Way was developed. Near Ash Brook the correct path is to the south of the tree lined pond but the trampled path was along the crop edge to the north. At Knightsfield Farm I felt again a second class citizen, hemmed in along a narrow verge when the map shows the path along the wide farm track. But having had a little rant I will say it was an easy walk to follow and decent views in quiet rolling countryside.

A pleasant and easy to follow walk which traces a rolling section of the Staffordshire Way, which we started from Abbots Bromley. The route is direct and safe, we encountered cattle in a couple of sections, but they were pretty docile. There are lots of stiles, most, but not all of which, were in good condition. Virtually all of the route is offroad. Abbots Bromley and Uttoxeter both have stops and shops in abundance but my one major criticism of this route of over 11km is that there are no stops and little variety between the settlements. I wonder if a route via Kingstone could fix this? Overall though, a welcome addition to the network.

I have run this route many times, it follows the well marked Staffordshire Way long distance path across rolling farmland with almost no road walking except at the start and finish.
