- There's a short section with no right of way just before Boxen Bower (what3words address: ///unicorns.subject.fields). The public footpath ends the field further up the hill, but the route (Newbis one) continues on through a fence in the corner of the field just before the road. Reported 28 Dec 2021
- Posted a review of this one (Walkin Two) about 3.30 this afternoon (03.06.2023) but it hasn't shown up. I posted it using the app: when I pressed 'submit' it appeared to be processing it correctly, counting up the photographs as it loaded them, and then returning me to the route page when done. But ... no review, no 4 stars :'( I'll hold off posting again for this route/any more routes until I hear back ... is it hiding somewhere or do I need to have another go? Cheers Jane Reported 03 Jun 2023
- 04.07.21 I was uploading my review of Pathar1 on which I had submitted the allowed total of 15 pictures that I had referenced in the written review. It appears to have deleted all but the 1st 3 pictures "Oops! An Error Occurred The server returned a "413 Payload Too Large". Something is broken. Please let us know what you were doing when this error occurred. We will fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience caused." Reported 04 Jul 2021
- This route gave an error 500 message when I uploaded it last night (30.05.2022), in fact I assumed it hadn't uploaded and was surprised to find it listed - but there is no routing information, the map is blank. I uploaded another new route, Harsou2, this afternoon and that one seems ok (apart from total length, max elevation, min elevation are missing from the GIS data page); but this one is not ok, it needs the route line to appear on the map. Thanks, Jane Reported 31 May 2022
- I walked this route (most of it) today using OS Maps with GPS. At approx. GR 391892, 394425 the path turns down Warren Close, then enters ginnels before leaving the housing area at GR 391709, 394629. The path follows the edge of some garden fences, behind back gardens, and is poor quality, then reaches open ground where the way is not marked and the right of way is almost ‘disguised’. This gets worse - at about GR 391626, 394656 the right of way is barred by a fence and a padlocked gate. (Perhaps there has been a tactical move to make the right of way ‘unused’.). I had the GPS working on my phone at the time, and I am fairly confident that it was the right of way - which on paper looks fine - used by the start team that was blocked. The footpaths on the OS map to the north were also very indeterminate, and at one point I got through a gap that had been made in a chain link fence, to reach Windmill Lane and rejoin the route at the A57. I have reviewed Stoden 1 as a one star, given that the path is barred. Perhaps it should be culled? I have put in an alternative, which does use a bit more road, but the A57 on Stoden 1 is not pleasant, (the vehicles turning into the side roads one has to cross is the worst aspect), and the alternative does use straight lines, minor roads, and makes use of the park near the destination, and is a bit shorter. Unfortunately the route is definitely not wheels-useable, with apart from anything else a series of steps at approx. GR 390613, 393345. Reported 30 Apr 2021
- At GR 388229; 392771, in Heaton Chapel there is no access to Norfolk Avenue from the open ground - the route shown - (there’s a high metal fence). The recreation ground exit is in the west corner leading to Meadows Road. On Meadows Road, although the first left (Langdale Road) leads to the A6, I would recommend that the route uses the second left - Milwain Drive. This will lead to the pedestrian controlled crossing near the corner of Milwain Drive. After crossing the A6, the first right (Alford Road) will minimise the time spent on the A6, and links up with the original route. Reported 02 May 2021
- I walked part of the Wooler to Alnwick route today from Wooler to Eglingham and will complete the route soon and post a review (the part walked today was a fantastic). However there is a problem with the route from Berwick Folly (Way Point 269, map ref 067227) to where the route joins with a bridleway at WayPoint 300, map ref 079221. The route between these points is drawn as a straight line, but it does not follow any footpath or other right of way and it is not over access land for most of the way. I had noted that this part of the route was odd when I reviewed it on an OS map before setting off but assumed that Berwick Folly was an unoccupied derelict property and the route followed an ancient unused byway. However Berwick Folly is a farmhouse with outbuildings converted into very expensive/exclusive looking cottages. The route shown starts by crossing a large very neatly tended private lawn and then into an arable field. We spoke to a charming and helpful resident who told us there had never been any sort of pathway on the SlowWays route and the farmer did not like walkers on even legitimate rights of way over his land! We did find a route sticking to public rights of way until we were into the Access Land and then cutting across to rejoin the SlowWays route which added minimal distance to the walk. I can send you the details of the route I took by email attachment if this would be helpful. Rick Sweeney Reported 15 Jun 2021
- This route follows an imaginary reopened railway (i.e. old railway that for significant parts - miles - is not accessible nor passable). A reviewer comments that it is the John Buchan Way, but that is not true. It passes over the JBW at two locations, but the reviewer is mistaken. This route would be welcomed but for large parts simply does not exist - it seems that perhaps someone is mistaking old railway line on the OS map with a path. Reported 30 May 2022
- The route suggested is not accessible - there is no access to the Buckinghamshire bank of the Thames from Taplow Riverside running north to Cliveden, nor from Cliveden to Hedsor. An alternative is to follow the Berkshire bank to Cookham Bridge and then take the footpath to Hedsor and rejoin the existing route; but an even better (shorter) alternative is to follow the National Trust path from Maidenhead town centre through Maidenhead Commons to Cookham and then over the bridge. - Part of this route would involve walking along the B2068 past Farthing Common Plant Centre. This is a fast road with no footpath, of which I would not recommend walking along. Reported 28 Apr 2021
