  • I think this review is also on the wrong route. It mentions going on Bowen Drive and past Kingswood House and they are both on WesCry 2 but not here. It's a bit confusing, especially as the writer then discusses a whole load of other roads/places, some of which might actually be on WesCry 1. I saw there is a flag on one of the reviews, so perhaps someone already noticed and adding the flag was the workaround to stop it counting. Reported 16 Sep 2023
  • In the Liss/SteepMarsh area, this route appears to cross the A3 trunk road by a surface level "gap in the central barrier". The A3 is a very busy road with high traffic volumes and vehicle speeds. Thus, this proposed Slow Route is effectively severed by the potential danger posed to walkers. The safe(r) alternative walking northbound is to divert (east) onto the Farnham Rd : pass under the A3 bridge : then turn left ( north ) onto the shared use path that runs up along the east side of the A3 to Tankerdale Lane ( where the proposed route continues ). • Inconsistency in photo thumbnail display for portrait oriented photos (and one other), possibly linked to the process by which they were uploaded. E.g. Rombre 2 thumbnails on route Overview page. Photos 1-7 uploaded with route: portrait photos = 6, 7: both thumbnails are portrait. Photos 8-21 from a review: portrait = 17: thumbnail is landscape but only shows middle part of photo - missing the full scope. Photos 22-28 from a photo survey: portrait = 22, 24, 26: thumbnails are all portrait. But photo 28 is different again as the photo is actually landscape (just! 1280 x 1251 pixels) but the whitespace surrounds the thumbnail display as if it were portrait. Is this is a new feature? I remember "portrait" thumbnails like photo 17 before. I'm not sure it's a success as the amount of white space now on the page rather defeats the purpose of a quick view of thumbnails, particularly when using a landscape computer screen. Maybe the whitespace could be shown as vertical white bands within portrait thumbnails so the on-route-page alignment and white space doesn't change? Or just return it to all being like 17 again - is there a functional need for full scope thumbnails for every portrait oriented photo? Reported 29 Dec 2023

  • Please can you remove Maiasc Zero which is showing in my reviews waylist THIS LINK https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Maiasc/9258. It's another blank one. However, please be careful about https://beta.slowways.org/SlowWay/Maiasc. The text says there is no route for Maidenhead to Ascot, but the map shows my Skipton to Cross Hills route, although clicking that takes you to SkiCro Zero https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Skicro/9258 which is blank. I re-uploaded SkiCro Three https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Skicro/9890 which seems to be okay. There seems to be an ongoing occasional problem when uploading a new route, possibly when someone else happens to submit something at the same time. There is now no Maidenhead to Ascot at all, and my Skipton to Cross Hills disappeared (but I uploaded it again), and also when I added Preston Leyland (PreLey Two) it somehow got linked to Thorniehill-Barrhead near Glasgow as far as my waylist map goes https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Bartho/9391. • Hello, a route I uploaded and reviewed Potenf2 (potters Bar to Enfield Town Two) has disappeared. Instead I have Ascot to Lightwater in its place. I had some void Ascot routes last year but this was recognised and fixed. I can re-do Potenf2, but can it be recovered? And can the void route Asclig be removed (again). Thank you. • The route is quite badly drawn in places, for example near Woodside. It looks as if it has been done at too low a resolution. I have a GPX track of the route from St Boswells to Woodhouse, if that would be helpful. One of my fellow walkers will be doing the bit from Woodhouse to Jedburgh and will submit a separate report. Reported 04 May 2022
  • There is an anomaly with Yate to Frampton Cotterell-winterbourne. The Slow Ways map indicates that there is a Slow Way between these two places but a click through from the line leads to a blank page and the Slow Way is not mentioned on either of the place pages. Is there a Slow Way GPX for this route? Is there meant to be? Reported 12 Feb 2023
  • Part of this route would involve walking along the B2068 past Farthing Common Plant Centre. This is a fast road with no footpath, of which I would not recommend walking along. Reported 28 Apr 2021
  • This route follows an imaginary reopened railway (i.e. old railway that for significant parts - miles - is not accessible nor passable). A reviewer comments that it is the John Buchan Way, but that is not true. It passes over the JBW at two locations, but the reviewer is mistaken. This route would be welcomed but for large parts simply does not exist - it seems that perhaps someone is mistaking old railway line on the OS map with a path. Reported 30 May 2022
  • Jock's Road / Tolmouth remains inaccessible, Storm Arwen wiped out much of Glen Doll's forests and the path between Glen Doll ranger base and the end of the forest is still blocked. Access is possible by walking up the South Esk, going left round by Loch Esk and reaching Crow Craigies that way, then down to Braemar Reported 29 Apr 2022
  • This route is around Penrith in Cumbria not Brechin in Angus Reported 25 Apr 2022
  • When I submit a review I get this, see attachments. I can’t work out what the problem is . Please can you help. Rosalind Reported 17 May 2021
  • Hi Cristie Opened the link below to read a new review only to see something odd along the bottom of the screen. A red bar full of symbols, numbers and what looks like code. Tried both route links in email, same result. (Same result when I tried place links later). Numbers are slightly different, including what looks like page loading time in ms. Sequece of screenshots attached. Main route page was greyed out at first. On one test a cookie acceptance pop up appeared and I realised that touching the screen was still working despite the red bar. And the (Spoiler - review was only a rating. words say "leave a comment". A weirdly low effort review considering the effort of physically walking it) I also had a review email notification for another route a little earlier this evening and it is perfectly normal. (My own review - boring) Noticed that the URL is cluster.slowways instead of usual beta.slow... perhaps explaining the cookies. The page looks normal if I access it the usual way and I have not been logged out of beta.slowways.org. Also red bar was persistent as I navigated around the site ( still apparently within the Gmail app) and continued after "open in browser". When I realised that I apparently needed to "Log in". I didn't get much further. FYI I did have a pop up (not on phone but earlier on the laptop) about the main (beta) site to the effect of 'this website isn't secure but it usually is and someone could be eavesdropping on your data". It went away on refresh so I ignored it and would probably have forgotten by now. But I'll probably log out instead and wait a while. Over to you. I'm hoping it's pretty minor. • Hi Christie I recently logged into my account, and noted that it is recorded that I have undertaken 17 route surveys. Can you review this, as according to my records, I have undertaken 43 surveys, totalling nearer 540 km of route? I can provide a summary of routes surveyed if this would help?
