  • "Bl---- Bonkers". I spent some time producing NEWTEI 2 because NEWTEI 1 suffered 2 significant flaws. 1: The original GPX was too imprecise, notably where it confused one reviewer into taking an inappropriate wrong turning at Shaldon Bridge to cross under the railway line. 2: A quite worrying apparent failure to understand and appreciate the safety restrictions on timing because the track is intertidal between the A380 bridge and Shaldon. I am concerned that this reviewer appears to have walked the route without due respect to the clearly displayed warning signs (or my description) on completing below half tide. He has in fact rated not the NEWTEI 2 gpx route but his route on going "off-track" (something which it is not possible to do successfully and which is never necessary anyway when completed below half tide). Not sure what (if anything?) needs doing. Reported 05 Aug 2023
  • Having surveyed Newoln today: Errors/bugs - I gave this a 3 for path surface grade – it has been recorded as U. - I gave this a Y for mobile phone coverage – it has been recorded as ‘no information’ - I gave this a Y for free of flight of steps – it has been recorded as ‘don’t know’ Lack of clarity - When uploading photos there is no acknowledgement of uploading successful once you do it. Can’t tell if its worked or not, which is frustrating. - I skipped the gradients and camber questions (I didn’t measure them) – but they are shown as 0%. This is misleading – implies it’s flat. - A red X next to ‘Possible to avoid steps’ implies there are steps, even when I ticked to indicate there were no flights of steps. Suggest change to say ‘Possible to avoid steps, if applicable’ General comment - Please can there be a way to edit your own previously uploaded survey? This would mean any errors made in uploading can be fixed immediately, or data amended in light of new info (e.g. adding features later if not done first time). If this feature already exists -please nake clear how to choose it. Reported 11 May 2021
  • 04.07.21 I was uploading my review of Pathar1 on which I had submitted the allowed total of 15 pictures that I had referenced in the written review. It appears to have deleted all but the 1st 3 pictures "Oops! An Error Occurred The server returned a "413 Payload Too Large". Something is broken. Please let us know what you were doing when this error occurred. We will fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience caused." Reported 04 Jul 2021
  • The route suggested is not accessible - there is no access to the Buckinghamshire bank of the Thames from Taplow Riverside running north to Cliveden, nor from Cliveden to Hedsor. An alternative is to follow the Berkshire bank to Cookham Bridge and then take the footpath to Hedsor and rejoin the existing route; but an even better (shorter) alternative is to follow the National Trust path from Maidenhead town centre through Maidenhead Commons to Cookham and then over the bridge. • I have downloaded and printed the survey forms and completed them by hand. How to I send these to you. There are supplementary documents on an error in the route. I was hoping to scan these and send them as a pdf, but cannot find such a facility on the slow ways website. Ken Perrett Reported 30 Apr 2021
  • Sorry - I should have raised this issue much earlier, but I don't think Billington is the right choice of settlement for this location. Billington is adjacent to/on the outskirts of Whalley, which is a much more appropriate choice of settlement. Billington does not really have any identity or facilities other than housing, whereas Whalley is a vibrant place, with many facilities. (I am a frequent visitor!) Replacing Billington with Whalley would entail a settlement move of c. 1km. I would be happy to replot all the Billington routes to start/finish in Whalley if this is possible. Reported 03 Jul 2021
