    1. I walked from Brent Cross to Kingsbury. So for me this was the start at Brent Cross Tube Station, on the Northern Line. Normal suburban Roads with pavements either side, typical road walking for this route. 0 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    2. Very soon after Brent Cross Tube Station there is this overpass across the A406 North Circular. No steps but the slope is quite steep. A caged River Brent can just be seen 0.75 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    3. Entrance to Hendon Park. Just 100m to the left the route exits the park and crosses over the tube rail line 23 steps up and 21 steps down. You might be able to carry a like or light buggy over but wheels are generally excluded. From the bridge this route merges with the Capital Ring until the bridge at the Welsh Harp Reservoir, it is well signposted. 1 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    5. Arrival at the Welsh Harp Reservoir. Nice area with benches to rest. Well known to bird watchers, it is worth bringing binoculars. Wheelchair users can get close to the lake edge and enjoy the views. Neasden Hindu Temple seen on the horizon. 3 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    6. This is Cool Oak Bridge between the two lakes taken from the same spot as the previous photograph. the bridge has a wide pedestrian part. Traffic is one-way only and controlled by traffic lights. Just over the bridge (going West) you need to go straight ahead along a narrow pavement not left into the riverside walk. Turning right is an alternate path (more later). 3 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    7. Looking back toward Cool Oak Bridge from the West side showing the narrow pavement that ends forcing a road crossing to the other side of the road where the pavement recommences. fortunately due to the traffic lights close by it is quite safe, but the pavements are quite narrow. 3.25 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    8. 150m further on from the previous photo the route, in blue, is shown going through some allotment gardens, also shown on the OS maps as a green dotted line. There are locked gates and this cannot be accessed. First alternate route, in orange, just over Cool Oak bridge to the right is a narrow muddy path through woodland that joins back to the SlowWay. Second (recommended) alternate route, in red. Carry on past the allotments along the pavement there is a signpost pointing right after a couple of bends. Walk NE to a gap in the trees to rejoin the path. Do not go along the OS green dotted footpath North, the path is narrow overgrown and muddy. after the gap through the trees you emerge to join the main path to the left (next picture). 3.5 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    9. Looking across the playing fields towards Neasden Temple in the distance. Head left across the field to the NW corner where there is a gap in the hedge and then more playing fields. again head NW towards a playground. If sports matches are being played you may have to walk around the perimeter of the fields over longer grass. 4 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    11. Entering Fryent Country Park from the East. The route shows a straight line through the Park which goes through hedges marking the ancient field system. An aerial satellite view shows the boundaries (next image) and a suggested path, you can take any path you wish. All routes involve long grass and mud when wet. The picture shows horses (you've entered by the Stable entrance) and a tarmac path by the fence. 5 km from start — 11 Aug 2021

    12. The park is very open and you can see many paths, you can choose. The route as downloaded shows a straight line through hedges. Blue line. The route I suggest is using the tarmac path shown in the previous picture, orange line. after a few meters there is a map on a board so you can orientate yourself, you entered by the horses. Follow the path which is narrow but in reasonable condition. past some small ponds and a bench, then west across grass by a hedge to an exit. 5 km from start — 11 Aug 2021
