    32. Here the route is slightly different to what is shown on the OS map. The path actually crosses through the end of the woodland, which is enters via this new stile. Nice and sturdy but no access for our labrador, who had to be lifted over. 8.7 km from start — 10 Aug 2021

    37. Take care crossing the canal bridge. This is the view looking back. There is a path but it is fairly steep and has the worst camber of the route, sloping 23% down into the road 9.2 km from start — 10 Aug 2021

    38. Having crossed the B road, the route turns onto a track. Along here is the most challenging section of the route and to avoid it, stay on the road to get to Chirk. 9.5 km from start — 10 Aug 2021

    39. This is the steepest part of the route (60%) as you climb up into Chirk. The path has slumped into natural steps but they are not evenly spaced and still have a steep angle. 9.7 km from start — 10 Aug 2021
